Dr. Jeffrey S. Bland

Dr. Jeffrey S. Bland is the President and Chief Science Officer of Metagenics, Inc. (formerly known as HealthComm Inc.), a United States based corporation in Washington dedicated to the development and practice of medicine and nutrition. He is the pioneer of Functional Food Concentrate (FFC) and also a principal educator of Functional Medicine. More than 75,000 health practitioners, including medical doctors have attened Dr. Bland’s seminars and educational programmes.

Dr. Bland was formerly a Director of the Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine in California and a Professor of Nutrinional Chemistry at the University of Puget Sound. During this two years at the institute, Dr. Bland reported to Dr. Linus Pauling, winner of two Nobel Prizes, and to Institute President, Dr. Emil Zukerandi.

In 1992, Dr. Bland took the lead and founded the prestigious International Symposium of Functional Medicine in the United States. This annual event serves as a platform fot the training of medical practitioners and scientific researchers in the field of nutrition. It is also the forerunner of a fast-growing trend in the East and the Weast that advocates the use of functional approaches to help people regain their health.

In 1993, Dr. Bland was invited by the former First Lady of the United States, Hilary Clinton to participate in the formulation of the United States Recommended Daily Allowance (USRDA). Dr. Bland was also invited by the White House to release his revolutionary proposal on the latest medical trend. He explained that food supplements are playing a more and more important role as an “effective preventive measure and an alternative treatment method against many diseases.”
